Your Most Successful Road
Re: Your Most Successful Road
Just to clarify, that was 110 species of Birds, mammals and reptiles in one day, not just birds.

Wow Dewi
More lion than I can remember, 3 cheetah, leopard, civet (in the day), plenty hyena, jackal, ostrich babies, 16 odd wild dog, plenty ellies and buffs, etc
It cooked for us last year for some reason.Flutterby wrote:Wow BC...we're on the verge of giving up on the S100!

Amazing that we were there at the same time and we saw nothing...not even ellies...on the S100!

Re: Your Most Successful Road
I want to add the S90 to my most successful Road.
For a birder this road is alive with raptors and other birdies, yet I have heard of Lion and leopard spotted here.
Add Waterbuck and hyena to the list also.

Re: Your Most Successful Road
I have had some awesome sightings on the S90 harry and Amoli
2 male lions fighting over a kill, jackal and vulture fighting over a kill, lioness with cubs, cheetah, but never a hint of a leopard (All the usual ellie and buff gang also)
I will always drive it each trip

Most successful road?
Difficult question.
As we all know, you can drive a road and see loads. And then the same road produces nothing next time you do the same stretch.
I love seeing Ellies, so for me, one of the best roads is the H4-1 (Skuks/LS road). Always have good ellie sightings along here.
For general game - the H6 is very good.
And in the far South the S118, S119 were very good this past trip.

Re: Your Most Successful Road
Just goes to show how everyone's experience is different...we've never had much luck on the H6.
