KTP - Kieliekrankie Wilderness Camp

Post by Mel »

Here are some photos of Kieliekrankie Wilderness Camp:

One night per unit is currently 980 Rand and the camp is reachable within an hour
from Twee Rivieren if you go at more or less maximum speed allowed.

The good thing about KK is the vast view over an open landscape,
the downside is that you get lots of wind which sometimes is so strong that
you can't light a braai fire in the evening.

View on the waterhole from unit 4 which is the furtherst away from it,
but you get the sunsets better than from any other unit.

The canvas in the bathroom has been replaced by solid walls and a proper window since
our last trip in October 2012. As there were two mosiquito net windows, one of them facing
the next door unit, those have been made peep through proof with some sort of
coloured paper and tape you use to close parcels that you send by post. Sounds ugly,
but isn't too bad looking. The windows don't have mosquito nets at the moment though.
