Hi all,
we are getting prepared for our epic road trip! Starting in Naracoorte, south east of South Australia, heading up north through Coober Pedy, up to Alice Springs N.T., visit to Uluru, across to Longreach Qld, then on to Yeppoon on the Capricorn Coast of Queensland. 5000kms. Then we turn around and meander home through New South Wales, ACT including Canberra and the National War Memorial (a must do for me), through Victoria and home.
Will 'Vannie' make it? Our 1984 Nissan Urvan Campervan will be our transport and home. (Pics to come )
Will we get there and back in 3 and half weeks?
Can I cope with outback dunnies?
It is all ahead of us and you can come along for the ride!! Our travel tale will go live next Thursday when we depart.

Looking forward to joining you on this trip.
Can you post a map of where you will be going as some of us have never been to Australia.

If you look at this image we start in the south near Mt.Gambier, go north through Coober Pedy up to Uluru and Alice Springs, then Tennant Creek, Mt Isa, Longreach, then Rockhampton and Yeppoon (40kms north on coast not marked). Haven't worked out the exact route home yet.

As I have no idea of distances and road conditions in Oz -
how long will it take you to get to Uluru?

Uluru is about 1800+kms from home so we are looking at about three to four days of fairly solid driving. All roads highway quality.
