And this is a Western Nose talking!? You guys set that fashion long ago! 0- -O

I have always liked going my own way and inspecting nature up close and personal when given the chance. One key indicator of the health of an ecosystem is the number of worms/larvae attached to the bottom of stones in a relatively stagnant water source, be it fresh or saline. These stones looked very good! \O

I did check for crocs, especially later when looking for small mammal spoor on the few sandy beach areas upstream! ;-)

One of the imponderables of this trip was why the Klaserie River was flowing West instead of East...still dunno! :-?

RP was checking for water snail poo to determine if the river system is healthy. After inspecting a few locations in the close vicinity he stood up, set a very official pose and gave it the green light. Sprocs spent his time setting shutter speeds and apertures or something. I will say the pics do the spot justice Sir Click.

We gave a bit of thought to bringing some braai equipment to this spot and have a braai there that evening, but decided a sundowner there would be less trouble. Unfortunately we had to make tracks to get back to camp to entertain our guest, but we would make sure to bring him to this spot later in the day.
Ahem, RP, it was actually flowing North

The thirst was building due to the sound of rushing water Sprocs, nothing else. :o0ps:

I tasted the water, just a mouth roll. Wouldnt suggest others doing it at all in any SA river, though. All sorts of funny stuff going on re. our rivers... :-(

But ja, our guest was waiting...would he be angry or calm...? O-/
