The clear water survace was broken and a large mass appeared close to the Impalas .

Image

A croc was warming up on the bank of the dam .
Image

The sun glinting off the water of the dam was very mesmerizing .
Image

The Impalas were still coming down in groups .
Image

On the far bank another Hyena arrived and went behind a rock for a while
Image

A new bakkie arrived and parked next to us .After a short while there was a metallic banging next to us .We wondered what could possibly be wrong with their bakkie to make such funny noises . Looking around I located the problem and it was actually on our vehicle it was a Hornbill banging on the chrome running bars on our car =O: =O:

Image

While I was watching there was a sudden flutter and another pushy bird appeared on the car .

After a while the hidden Hyena reappeared and walked all the way around the dam and past the car park .

We decided to take our leave and carry on towards Afsaal ...

Interaction with the birds ^Q^ ^Q^

Not a bad place to sit for a while. Normally there are lots of waterbirds too, but then I have only been there in summer ;-)

Ja, I told you it is great to sit at a waterhole this time of year, Rog!

How unheard of for ostrich to be at Shitlhave!

Those francolin give one a terrible fright when they jump onto the mirror like that!
