Stark, hire a 4x4 with all camping gear and go DIY. That's our plan. \O
Going to spend some time in Hwange then drive across to Mana and get the ferry back. :-)

Not a bad idea at all! \O

I think I have richprins and his motley crew of friends and family lined up no short notice for a "guys trip". Now I just have to talk Mrs. Stark and my financial planner into it. 0:

Phew - yes lots of money needed 0*\ 0*\ 0*\

Just had confirmation of our payment with a note to say conservation fee at both Mana and Gonarezhou is US$15 per person per day.

We are 7 adults for 8 days at R10 exchange = a cool R8400 0*\ 0*\ 0*\ 0*\

Camping at Mana is US$20 per person per day 0*\ 0*\ 0*\

With the comparable currency, for us it is actually cheaper than Kruger. The 4x4 rental will be the killer.

Pooky, I would check those rates again cos for Gonarezhou for Safricans should be U$4 PPPD and U$10 PD for your vehicle entry fee, Mana however is a tad higher @U$10PPPD and another U$10 PD for your vehicle, and Mana is worth every cent but (and there is always that BUT) beware of the baboon raiders at Mana camp sites as they are quite ferocious and will rip your tents if unattended (unatented =O: )to gain access to your stuff and at night the Hyena will graze your food storage boxes if left on the ground, other than that you'll all have a marvellous time. If you have any emergencies while up here please give us a call and we'll try to get you back on track
Send me a PM and I'll f'wd my contact details>

PRWIN is right there has been a price increase 0*\

Gonarezhou is US$15pppd camping, US$4 pppd conservation fee. US$15 pd per vehicle and US$10 pd per Trailer

Mana is US$20 pppd camping US$15 pppd conversation fee US$15 pd per vehicle and US$10 pd per trailer.
