now i figured i would continue towards the gate on the r 63
and enter the south western section of the park towards the valley of desolation
this was not to be..........
as the sundays river, which flows into the ngweba dam was "in flood"
and the road was closed..........
.
.
.
.
.
.
i had to go back to the main entrance and travel through town to get to the other side of the park
while still in this side of the park i did come across a few of the other locals spying on me...
.
.
.
.
and these water walking flies were rather fascinating
.
.
.
.
i have no idea what these raptors are......
.
.
.
.
an ant eating chat
.
.
.
.
a karoo korhaan
.
.
.
.
an ostrich family
.
.
.
.
made my way to the fishing spot behind the reception where this chap was sitting in his fishing tube
.
.
.
.
the view towards town from the fishing spot
.
.
.
.
i dont know the history of this old house
but it seems to be prime real estate
as far as location goes overlooking the dam....

Looks like an interesting place. Love the old building.
The first raptor (2 pics) is a juvenile African Fish Eagle and the one in the tree is a Steppe Buzzard.
