Hi Sharifa,
Great info on the Lammergeyers,

but researchers have noted that the Golden Eagles in Greece and other regions of the Med. have adapted to the lack of large prey there and specialize in catching Tortoises which they drop from a height to break open the shells.

Lisbeth - I don't think they have the strength to carry off lambs and as it is they have to rely on other scavengers to clean up the carcass before they move in.
These are a few other interesting birds and animals we came across
Cape Crow
Speckled Pigeon
Olive Woodpecker - a lifer for us
River Mongoose
Oribi
The Eland
