Another strange debate is about the "fur" of Klipspringers, as it is said that the hairs are easily pulled out or become dislodged...which is true!
Reasons given include that this helps to reduce scarring/damage should they fall off their rocks, and that this confuses/disencourages their main predator, the leopard.
I've never seen one fall, and I doubt leopard would give a damn?

This male and female Klipspringers was also photographed in Marakele National Park a bit down the road leading to Lenong Viewing Point, November 2013. In the midday sun just laying on the rocks.
