Description
Perennial twining climber, up to 4 m long. All parts densely short-pilose. Leaves broadly ovate to circular, rarely 3-lobed. Inflorescences 1-few-flowered. Corolla funnel-shaped, mauve to purple with a darker centre. Capsule spherical, glabrous. Flowering throughout the year.
Distribution
Widespread in tropical Africa. In southern Africa it has been recorded from northern Namibia and northern Botswana.
Habitat
In swamps and marshy bush near rivers.
