Hmmm...... R1800 is not very expensive . I am attending an international conference in Cape Town , in April where the cost is USD1195 plus 14 % VAT . O:V
If they want the masses to attend this shindig the price should come down at least 50%.
It is way too much for most private citizens of SA.

I guess it is more for organisations, and those speakers may have to be paid? -O-

Allison Thomson from OSCAP has kindly offered a discounted rate to all AW members. ^Q^ ^Q^ The two-day conference will cost R1000 per person including meals.

No compensation , and I travel from Worcester to Cape Town both days .

On the plus side , I do not have to pay the conference fee \O
And I get a free lunch too :-)

BTW , the fee for registering prior to 15 February for international attendees was USD1695 . After that date , it is USD2650 , not including accommodation , flights etc .and the fee I mentioned are for South African attendees .

In business , nowadays , its called " networking " , and you pay for it :O^
