Could be that it's because I've seen bad behaviour at sightings of rare birds here in the UK in the past. I never bother going if something turns up as I just end up being disapointed rather than elated. I simply transferred the same logic to Kruger and kept away.

Improved cell phone coverage is on the cards for KNP according to my sources, but due to human nature many more will follow sighting updates and soon most that are aware will be following, so what does this mean for KNP?

I spotted 1 green ribbon, 1 yellow ribbon, but 3 orange ribbons while in KNP.

I assume that all understand the orange ribbon

Where will this take things?

I am with Dewi on this one.

I take a quick glance.
Maybe take one or two bad (they usually are) pics and off I go again to escape the madness.

I am also on the Whatssapp sightingsgroup.
I check them.
See if it is nice and I head in the other direction again.

And I thought our first lion sighting in KTP was hectic, but at least all stayed in the cars. No wonder they cannot complete the road to Rooiputs and Kij-Kij.

And I do agree with you....sightings are only going to get more hectic!! I was quite glad that most of the time we couldn't get signal....I much prefer to find our own sightings.

I see where you are going here. How will the chaos at sightings be controlled? If it cannot be done now, what happens when more people turn up?

If it gets to the point that it's bad at every sighting that's reported, maybe people will get less inclined to go after a few bad experiences, but it will take a while for that to happen.

Orange ribbons are for those that actively follow and support live updates

Where will this take things A hundred poeple travelling between updates shortly two hundred next year

We also don't hang around at hectic sightings but there are plenty of people who seem to love it, and I don't think it will change. Let's just hope someone doesn't get hurt by an animal while out of vehicle, because then it will be the animal's fault!
