Re: Kruger Camping - current rules and possible changes
Ja, what is the problem if they pay? Isn't there an accommodation exchange thread, for example, where people trade stuff they can't use?

Agree with you Mike, provided the area of the site is big enough and you are not overflowing on a neighbours site, I see no problem as long as the correct amounts have been charged for.
The only issue for me would be if you are 8 you would take 2 sites, with 6 on one 2 on other. However if the 2 persons extra shared on another site, they would be paying just the extra for the person and not a full site, so Sanparks would be out a few bucks. Difference between extra persons on a site and a full site cost.

Agreed Robert - if sites were available Sanparks would receive more money. The lady looking for help had stated that she could not get any other site as the park was full.
I am of the opinion that Sanparks does not expect you to split camping groups of more than 6 persons into separate physical sites when putting up your camp even though you need to book a separate site for each 6. When individual sites are not demarcated how do you even determine this and even at places like Tsende I doubt if you were a group of 10 and booked 2 sites that anyone would mind if you all stayed on 1 site (using the 2nd site to park the vehicles for instance)?

Re: Kruger Camping - current rules and possible changes
Don't you have to pay extra for a second vehicle too, Mike?

Re: Kruger Camping - current rules and possible changes
Where do you pay for a vehicle? You could have 10 people in a vehicle.
Re: Kruger Camping - current rules and possible changes
more concerning to me is them doing a little survey of whether people wanted their own private ablutions with their campsite. They do not even maintain the current ones properly.

If you are more than one vehicle per site you pay R100 per night extra for the vehicle which is absolutely mad...Richprins wrote:Don't you have to pay extra for a second vehicle too, Mike?

So the crisis is power, am I right? Or is the crisis ablutions? Or overcrowding?

In 2012 we had 2 vehicles on one site and we didn't pay extra, I even asked at reception and they said it's not nessesary, that was at Letaba and SataraHeksie wrote:If you are more than one vehicle per site you pay R100 per night extra for the vehicle which is absolutely mad...Richprins wrote:Don't you have to pay extra for a second vehicle too, Mike?
