Another dog shot.

Canine distemper can spread easily and kill wild dogs, so it's a good thing and tourists should shut up.

‎South African National Parks‎ to SANParks - Kruger National Park
13 August 2019

We have spoken to the Pretoriuskop Ranger regarding the post by James JV Vuuren on a dog that was allegedly shot by Rangers with an AK47

There was a report of a poacher’s dog that was reported at the fence between Phabeni and Pretoriuskop. Field Rangers were dispatched to the scene to follow up on the reports and they saw the dog and fired off a round. The shots missed the dog and it fled into the nearby bushes and was never killed. Therefore the post does not reflect the true story and we have no reason to doubt the report from the Section Ranger. It is regrettable that the poster did not seek clarity before going public about the incident.

Unfortunately SANParks cannot always be believed. Maybe the Game Capture Team wanted to do a post-mortem on the dog? :O^

Anyway, they are normally poacher dogs and are shot on sight. \O
