Not so much at the gate itself inside the park Fluttsby but
from there homeward!! It was a nightmare travelling along
the roads outside the park.

Free roaming cattle, stray dogs and flippin taxis are enough
to make one insane. To top it all, there seemed to be a mad
holiday rush at the time!!

In Bushbuckridge I witnessed keen park dwellers trapped in a
road block going to the parks. This at 4.30 in the afternoon.

Hey these holiday makers have destinations to reach on time.

Madness, total madness would be the eastern lowveld.

When leaving Kruger, totally drenched with tranquility, this
scenario comes as quite a shocker!

I drove that road slapping my heart to ease when
the signboard Graskop appeared. I took a sharp
right, hopped the last hurdle of hell just to find
myself in a cloud burst of note. Maybe that was
a blessing in disguise.

I seem to think that had I continued straight, circumstances
would have changed rapidly. At the time there was little room
for thought!

The Nelly se gat, Witrivier, Phabeni road still seems user friendly,
sorry but I just had enough trauma. I wanted OUT!!!!

On our last few trips we've always gone via Lydenberg, Sabie and in at Phabeni...no problems there. ;-)

We exited the park just north of those roads and
in fact I was tempted to use the Lydenburg route
from Sabie. Should have done so but was concerned
with potholes on that route.

It very much seems that Mpumalanga can boast with
many beautiful day trips and meanders. One just needs
to plot and plan these carefully. Just such a pity that from
hereone, these meanders, to the gates of Kruger are
somewhat off a let down in life regarding animal distress
and other distress life has to offer.

Going to Kruger one can still deal with this distress but
leaving Kruger after tranquill situations sometimes leaves
one distressed.

A pity..

The road is quite bad from Hazyview to Sabie, but ok after that. ;-)

I just couldn't resist this...found it in my archives while looking for an old emoticon:

Circa 2010

The moderators asked for a copy of the article in the newspaper that Richprins referred to, to confirm where he was quoting Mr Mabasa from. They want to see where it was said that "Shangoni gate is to become a main gate to serve the people of the Giyani area and to provide employment and to give easier acess to the Park and the Pafuri and Giryondo Border posts." and “Further info received quotes Mr Mabasa as saying the main purpose of the gate is to allow business opportunities.” Until the article where this was said and quoted from in the Kruger Park newspaper, is produced, this is also treated as a transgression of Rule # 13.
Quote:
13. Trolling, feeding the trolls, speculation, flaming or toxic behaviour (toxic behaviour is when members don't break rules in an obvious manner, but insinuate and provoke with vague statements that sound polite and well intended) will not be tolerated.

=O: =O: =O: =O: =O: =O: =O:

I can remember that piece of work.

Like a lot of us you were slapped with rule 13.

They still have the same Ostrich mentality.
