Thanks Lis, Pumbaa, nan, Mel & Flutts for the comments \O

We continued our morning drive by taking the Gorah loop up towards Carols Rest. At the side of the road we saw a number of veld rats

Image

This pale chanting goshawk would no doubt be very happy to get its claws on one of the rats lol lol

Image

Up at Carols Rest there were loads of zebra milling around by the waterhole. It's funny how things change over time - my first ever visit to Addo was about 11 years ago and at that stage the zebra were extremely shy and very few in numbers. To see them then was quite rare, but now they are very plentiful

Image

This little one was very keen to stay close to mom :-)

Image

Amongst the bushes at Carols Rest there were some male kudu doing a good job of blending in

Image

On one of the open plains heading back down the Gorah loop this young steppe buzzard didn't seem the slightest bit scared of us. There are a good number of raptors around at the moment - H & D even spotted a couple of fish eagles ^Q^

Image

Heading back to camp for some brekkie we thought we'd stop by the lions again, but they looked set for the day's sleep

Image

The last sighting of the drive was a nice black shouldered kite - one of my favourite birds. I think this one was a youngster as its eye was more orange than red -O-

lol I agree about the PCG and the rats! Lovely pic of the latter. \O

Lion sighting ticked for the day as well - it can only get better, like in them roaming in the afternoon. Hopefully O**

Very cute zebra foal. 0/0

Agree again on the black-shouldered kite. Its head feathers are still a bit brownish too. Nevertheless, I like them too.

Saw a fish eagle flying high up in the air once - down at Matyholweni gate. :-0

Also my favourite small raptor

The goshawk looks very grumpy; maybe because it has not manage to get his claws in any of the rats O**

Cute little foal ^Q^
