Thanks for coming onboard, PRWIN, Richprins, nan, harrys, Lis, Stefan, Alf, Bushveld Jock, PJL and Flutts 0/*

We shall start with the owl sightings O** Although we saw quite a few and lots of chicks, they made for difficult photography as they were always trying to hide from my lens. But still, for those of you who will go to the KTP soonish, it might be quite useful to know where to look for them - or in some cases if at all, since some of the chicks are rather big already and might be gone from their nursery soon. :O^

The Twee owls

Between Houmoed and Monro

They are on a weaver nest in a tree right next to the road on your left hand side when you drive north.

South of Batulama

Image

Best seen when driving south. As you can see a very distinctive hole in the ridge (to your right when going south).

Just before the southern entrance of 14th Borehole

They are in a tree to your left when heading north. Said tree is very close to where the barn owl nest used to be.

On the dune road along 14th Borehole

You'll find this nest exactly 2 km from the southern access of 14th. The tree is to your left and unfortunately a bit far off,
but as you can see, it's another distinctive nest.

No specific location for the next two, just random finds.

We also heard and saw barn owl and giant eagle owl at Grootkolk and Urikaruus, as well as the pearl-spotted owlet at Uri.

As for the barn owl at Kielie: We were told that it had moved houses, obviously in a tree somewhere in the vicinity of the camp. Willem still regularly sees it.

God put me on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind that I'll never die.
