I find the sightings along the H4-1 can be mixed.

The bush can be very thick in places. Particularly the bit nearer Skukuza where those sickle bushes have sprung up since the 2000 floods. I have seen a giraffe there. Well just it's feet below the Impala "browse line".
I was also stopped next to an elephant right next to the road. A car drove right past not seeing it. And I had only seen it because the ele had crossed in front of me moments before.

Ja, the ellie was abandoned about 5 years ago, and adopted the first tourist car that came along. It was a very hot day. Staff eventually pitched up to take it to Skuks, but it didn't survive.
