TT going already PJL

Ja, it was also clear when we arrived that sightings would be difficult. This was our 5th April trip and I have never seen the grass as long. O/

Great camp setup O:V

Those devil thorns at Satara were hectic :O^

Fantastic lioness sighting and if they weren’t on the road it was difficult to find them. ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^

Possibly... I heard there were 2 lionesses seen later on the S100 so perhaps she found a friend

April 1st Continued

Continuing on towards N'Wanetsi it was now the turn of one of the many european rollers to be snacking on a big cricket

Image

And a little further along we found a number of giraffe close to the road O:V

Image

Complete with passengers...

Image

They always seem to be good at pulling funny faces when asked for a portrait lol

Image

N'Wanetsi remains one of my favourite stops for breakfast. After some bacon rolls we popped up to the view point where there were a few colourful lizards around, and we managed to sneak in a quick family portrait O**

Image

Image

Our route back was fairly quiet with some general game around. A bateleur gave us a nice fly-past whilst these kudu youngsters had us wondering if they were twins... there only seemed to be one mom around :-? -O-

Image

Image

On our way back to Satara we were chatting to some guys who had also had lion luck that morning with a sighting further north from the camp. Apparently it was mayhem with loads of cars around and flat lions, but we figured we go check out where it was and see if we could tie it into a later drive. Just past camp we found some ground hornbills strolling around ^Q^

Image

Image

Only about 1km further up the road there were a few cars around so we guessed it was the lions, but we actually had the wrong location for the major traffic jam... this was another sighting entirely O/\ O/\

There was a male lion hiding very well behind a bush whilst his partner was a bit more in view but not by much... just 3m off the road and the cats were disappearing O/ O/

Image

It was a shame they weren't more visible, but it was getting hotter so naturally they were seeking shade. Back at our campsite there was an elephant cruising through the long grass beyond the fence O:V

Image

With the temperature rising it was definitely time to go cool off in the Satara waterhole ..0.. =O: \O

A pretty family, Peej! lucky fish. \O

The kudu could be twins, it does happen?

Why not put it up here and we can ask the experts? -O-
