Thanks Flutt's.
Try rotating it in a photo editing suite rather than in your pics folder, Dzombo.

Thing is. I took the photo vertically (with my phone)
Emailed it to myself (easier to download from my desk top)
Appears as vertical on my desk top.
But when it uploads to the Forum it is horizontal
So do I rotate it sideways, and then upload that to the Forum in the hope that it shows vertical?
But I tried that and it didn't work

The zebra photo was taken horizontally. And is fine
So the cheetah photos.
Image 9179 was vertical on my screen and I uploaded as is.
Image 9179b was the same image that I turned horizontal. And then uploaded and is still horizontal
Am I missing something

Have you tried opening them in editing software? I find that my cell pics look fine when I download them, but when I open them in Digital Photo Professional or Photoscape they will be on their side and that's where you can rotate them.

TBH, I would rather not be fiddling with editing software.
What I like about the direct upload, is that it is so quick and simple. Was never a fan of using hosting sites etc

These are not hosting sites. Digital Photo Professional is the software that comes with Canon cameras, and Photoscape is free to download off the internet.

I edit , crop , rotate , whatever in Picasa , then export a it as a reduced file to another file , and I then download that specific edited pic to the forum . Never have any problems .
Its a lot of work , but it also means that I still have the original pic in original state in Picasa ( before editing ) , whereas I can also check exactly in what form it was downloaded to the forum .

Yup, I know.
The point I was trying to make is that I prefer the direct uploading to the Forum as apposed to using a hosting website. It's a lot of extra fiddling and time
And similarly if I need to use editing software.
Anyhow, I will just have to take all my photos sideways with my phone
