Going through the Nuwekloof pass ( between the Coastal Plain and the Boland ) , one can see the entire length of the train pulled along by the two diesel locomotives .

After going through the kloof , we travel through the winelands of Tulbach , Wolseley towards Worcester .

Here we go past my farm , and one can see part of the olive grove just beyond the line of big Eucalyptus trees .

My two workers , Davy and Ronnie , were waiting at the local shop to wave at us when the train went past .

I would just love to do the Blue Train or Rovos Rail!! The closest I've come is the Shosholoza Meyl which left a lot to be desired! O**

Like a Royal Tour with groupies waving at every station! lol

You must tell the shop that "kontantwinkel" is one word...

Yeaahh FB , Okiedokie is now also setting her sights on Rovos

RP , the emphasis is on " Kontant " , and he sells everything at hugely inflated prices , almost double that for stuff in supermarkets . He even sells a low quality wine in a plastic bottle at about R20 a pop 0*\
The wine-farmers around here , pay their workers every second week , so during " dry " weeks , the surrounding workers can buy goods " op die boek " ( on the book ) , and the book is then settled when they get paid .

Speeding through the winelands

After De Doorns and Touwsrivier , the winelands make way for the endless karoo

Oh well , enough of that for now :O^ Its boring to say the least lol
Now , lets get on with the short visit to Kruger - 3 nights in Punda , and then 2 nights in Shingwedzi .

It was swelteringly hot when we arrived in Punda , but that evening it rained , with the result that next morning was nice and cool lol

And the Impala lambing season had started , so whenever we came to any small herd , there were babies around .

We turned into the Mahoney loop , but animals were very very scarce . At least there were nice bright flowers on trees , like this

And a lonely ellie just gave us a bumshot
