Leopard at Skukuza Nursery

Hello!
This from a friend of a friend happening yesterday, I think:
They were visiting the nursery, and the lady and youngsters wandered down to the bridge near the golf course...just before the bridge they spotted a leopard sitting quite openly nearby watching them.
They all ran back to the nursery, whereafter the husband and the husband of the nursery operator went to the spot, and found the leopard still there, which then ran off!
The whole area is unfenced..so quite a sighting!

Wow!
So why drive for hours to find one of the "Spotted ones"?
Visit the nursery and ... shopping and spotting all in one

Kruger National Park Leopards

Vin Diesel, the biggest and heaviest leopard ever recorded in Kruger, has died at the age of 13.
Posted on FB:
Gillian Leigh Soames: He was old, lost form, had no teeth left and met his demise in Sabi Park, presumably by Lions or another dominant male. He will be buried in Lion Sands.
The following extract and pictures come from
Leopards of Sabi Sands.
Mvabala/Vin Diesel male leopard. He was born in 2004 and is ususally found in the Kruger gate area of kruger and also in the Sabi sands.
He is a huge leopard, weights around 90 kg, and carries himself with that swag that dominant leopards have along with his pearcing eyes that look right through you. The first time I saw him, my instinctive reaction was WOW, this lad is a tank...

Interesting choice of name
A shame that he is no more, but I'm sure he entertained quite a few visitors over the year.
He was indeed a remarkable species

Wear and tear quite obvious, at the same time dignified!!
Those that encountered him, count your blessings,..they are
becoming few and far between.

I wonder why exactly the leopard must be "laid to rest" in a different location? But so be it...

Because someone decided they can make more money out of it
Nothing is sacred where money is involved .........
