Re: Which is your Favourite Park, and Why?
God put me on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind that I'll never die.

Thanks for all the replies and I have to say we did stay in the northern part of Kruger one year (Punda Milia???) and I loved that.
Oh Toka - now you are making me very However, I guess I asked for it! Would love to go to the Central Kalahari - maybe if I start working on SO now, we could get there in the next few years!!
Travel lots, everyone, and let us know how you get on!

The Richtersveld Transfrontier Park, also known as the Ais | Ais Transfrontier Park, is definitely my favourite! They have this weird tree species called "halfmense".

for me Kgalagadi is the first, for the facility to see animals, semi desertic is nice for that, and I LOVE CHEETAHS... which place can give me more than Kgalagadi and no commercialisation at all... only radio in case of...
in Kruger the North, from Letaba... (maybe Satara), I love Punda Maria, Pafuri and the big trees, but not the same fauna
I know also Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Botswana but never by my self and India too, ah ! the Tiger.
Soon I will be to Augrabies and Addo... I don't know yet if they will deplace KTP from the 1st place

Sometimes it’s not until you don’t see what you want to see, that you truly open your eyes.

The park we visit the most is Kruger, but if the distance were the same I will go for Kgalagadi as long as its outside school holidays. Another favourite is Etosha. Of the smaller parks we liked Itala and Addo followed by Moutain Zebra.

Re: Which is your Favourite Park, and Why?
Kruger is most definately my most unfavorite of any park in Africa. The crowds of people certainly don't add to a wilderness experience. For me a game park is about getting away from civilization and the things I have to endure to survive in day to day life and I have yet to be able to do that in Kruger. Along with the numbers of people come a proportionately large number of idiots who have no idea of the real value of our wild places. I live 30 k's from Numbi gate and haven't been to Kruger for 3 years.
KTP is a great place, but sadly I see it taking the slide. All these what used to be wonderful places to really get away from it all are starting to become holiday destinations and the sense of wilderness and remoteness are taking a second place to the feeling of commercial holiday resorts.
So where do I now prefer to go? Unfortunately if we want to experience the remoteness we have to venture farther afield and places like Central Kalahari in Bots, the Okavango delta, Gorongoza and Niassa reserves in Moz, Gonarezhou and Hwange in Zim and two of my all time favorites, Kafue and Liuwa Plains in Zambia do it all for me.

Man was placed in charge and given the duty of caring for all creation, are we doing it?
