Thanks for all your comments, it was a short, intense and definitely well worth trip, of course that the fact there´s no jetlag involved helps.

I´m a big fan of self drive safaris in national parks where you have to work for the sightings (and get the reward) and count with the help of other drivers, but safaris in private reserves also have some perks, and the possibility to get really close to animals wherever they are is the biggest one, and thanks to that we spent some unforgetable moments, some of the best with the lion pride with the 5 cubs (2 of them 3 month old and the other 3 were 5 month old) and the 2 lionesses, the male was a little apart and the picture I posted was taken in a brief moment we saw him with his eyes open, he seems to have a tough life :-0 .

A few more pictures, starting with my favourite antelope which we had seen only once before in our fisrt trip to KNP:

Some nice landscapes in Mashatu with some baobabs, which were a first for us.

And back to the pride and the cubs, we just couldn´t get enough of watching them:

Mashatu is great to see leopards, at the same level of Sabi Sand I would say.

We went past mid september so the dry season was there for quite a while, and it was very hot, in the high 30ºs, but in some parts there was lots of vegetation.

There are two camps, the tented camp, where we stayed only the first night because it was the only night available, and the main camp, both were great, good food and good south african wines \O \O .

To the predators they only served impala during our stay, as you will see :-0 :-0 .
