Predators
Primary predators: Unfortunately for meerkats, they are a tasty treat for larger carnivores, especially jackals, eagles, and falcons.

Conservation Status
The meerkat is not currently endangered and is considered at lower risk of becoming endangered. That said, by no means should they be disregarded; they play an important part in maintaining ecological harmony in the desert. They provide food for predators like jackals and eagles, and they curb pest infestation by eating insects.

The end of the month is drawing near, so will end this animal of the month with the following, and a reminder of just how much we humans could take from animals if only we "listened" to their messages:
