Oh My Word.
Sharifa is not a Winter person so this morning when I got up at 5.00am she told me I was on my own as she was going to have a sleep in. I left for Phalaborwa gate at 5.35am. There was a nip in the air, at one point this morning the temperature was as low as 8°C, which is cold for the Lowveld.
I decided I will do the H14 today having done the H9 the last two mornings. Eight Kilometers into the H14, I found 5 wild dogs. They were on the move but I got some pretty decent shots before they moved into the bush.
It was a beautiful sunrise with the golden early morning light falling on the russet coloured Mopane leaves. I made a turn into the road leading to the Nandzana Waterhole. Nothing here today. I carried on north going into the Ngobeni short loop and the Ngobeni north loop, again very quiet this morning.
I carried on north till the bridge across the Ngwenyeni River and made a U turn here to return home. Just south of the S133 crossing I could not believe what I was seeing.
OH MY WORD.
I immediately stopped and got a shot. I have seen a few of them in Kgalagadi but my first Kruger Caracal came with a little bonus bundle.
