Dear Flutts,..

Thanks for the input. I here wish to emphasize and taking
into account The honorable ministers(DEA), amendment too
the Malalane Hotel's approval to commence, insofar current
trafficking in these areas very much subject to this situation.

Dear friends all this criteria will be very relevant subject to
the ministers amendment!!!, though we all realize the parties
involved have a rude habit of isolating their problem far away
from reality, in order to bring about their financial demands.
To us that would be a dream, to them a mere demand!!

The amendment by .gov applied requires that a proper traffic
impact assessment be required and performed by the applicant!!!

I seem to believe this kind of data to be very relevant to the situation
and needs to be appropriately applied in that situation.

This info and modus operandi in order to accumulate funding for
whatever reason can be regarded as very questionable by any and
every traveler that wishes for a visit too a sacred place!!,....

I believe such visitor would be looking for some sort of sanctity???
"Sanctity" worth millions nowadays!! Kruger has that potential for
abuse!!!!! It's very saddening to realize!!

All comments here will be very relevant to the greater traffic impact
assessment to be conducted with regard to The Malelane Tented Hotel
venture!!!

This is all part of the bigger traffic problems. Sanparks say with more OSV's there are less vehicles in park. This is not true as the OSV's are not part of the gate quota's, so the reverse is happening with more vehicles being allowed in as OSV's are after all vehicles and the numbers of people they are bringing in per vehicle are in average larger numbers than numbers of people in private vehicles, so you have numbers of people way above quota's in park. They do say quota's were worked out with OSV's in mind. -O- -O- I do not see how as the quota numbers have increased over the years + the number of OSV's have also increased and I get the feeling substantially increased with all the lodges etc outside the park. How do they know on any given day how many OSV's will be entering the park and how many people they will be bringing?

If they were part of the quota's system, quota's at gates would be reached earlier and then less vehicles would be in the park with the correct quota of people.

They ought to be counted, if not what sense has the quotas ? -O-

Once again it seems that Sanparks are applying
double standard philosophy here!!! Both standards
on their behalf would suggest a open avenue toward
endless revenue!!! Conservation seems negligible in their
forte!!!

Sanparks need to be confronted in order so as to explain
their "modus operandi" with regard to quantities,.........
be it vehicles or masses!!!???

Always a open gate convenient!!!!

When questioned about quotas a few years ago Sanparks replied that it was to do with the number of people the facilities could handle, hence surely OSV guests are people, therefore should be counted as part of the quota :-?

Petition should focusing on all visitors. OSV's aren't the only ones causing overcrowding, general public are as guilty if not more so.

I don't have a problem with radios. I like them in fact. Issue isn't the tool, issue is some OSVs speeding off when getting the info. Again just like with sighting apps issues is Sanparks inability to control traffic not the game viewing instruments.

Agree that gate quotas should apply to both OSVs and private vehicles.

Dear stefan9 I have great respect for your intuition.
You are a remarkable person insofar creating a APP!!
This portrays a true sense of ingenuity!!

Dear Stefan, please do not feel offended by me, you are
a very valuable member here and can tell you the your
creative abilities can be put to greater use here insofar
natural resources and all exploitation thereof. To kick off
call me a purist should that be evil in any sense!!!

Dear Stefan, many visitors there have this moral responsibility
toward nature, by instinct, simply to cut ties with the world
out there when visiting that place. They do this only to get
back to grass roots and nature. A sacrosanct state of mind!!~!

I beg to think that most humans wish for such state of mind,
even if only, for a short space of time!

Some years ago, some idiot managed to convince South African
society, their dependence to electricity, simple basic electricity!!
Some books brush over this hideous engineering mission as simple
aesthetic abuse!!! Mans so called advance and reliance on technology.

The damage remains to be seen for many miles!!!

Dear friend please do not see my approach as antagonistic rather but
realize Kruger as a special place. This world so lacking where all creeds
can come and enjoy peace of mind in some respectful way.

Shoie friend,.. O0

I think what H. is trying to say is that he and a lot of others go to the park to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life with all (well almost all) mod cons and suchlike left at home.

I agree with Stefan that the petition should cover all visitors behaviour in the park, not just OSV's. There will be good and bad on all sides.

The problem in Kruger is that it is still relatively cheap and affordable for most visitors, so overcrowding at sightings will happen and tempers will become frayed if someone in the vehicle next to you is shouting down a radio or on their mobile phone telling their friends they are at a special sighting.

If they reduce visitor numbers in the park, rates will have to increase for visitors to cover the loss. I guess that is why the private reserves can charge so much more - luxury lodges with restricted number of visitors/vehicles at a sighting.

On the other hand, whilst camping in Botswana earlier this year, there were 80 guests dining at the main reception area to the camp that night. None were staying at the campsite. Apart from the vehicles bringing them in and then taking them out once the shindig was over, we heard nothing. Not a peep! We were expecting a noisy evening sitting at our campfire, but heard only the local wildlife. The reception was only half a klick upriver. It can be done.
