Thanks Pumbaa, I did get lucky with the AWCs when we were at Mata Mata, sadly that was the last one for the trip!

Love the AWC again.

The light in the KTP has a different quality to any other I've seen. It makes for extra special photos!

Friday 18 September. Mata Mata -> Nossob.
Moving day today! We were up fairly early because we had to pack up the camp and drive 160kms to Nossob. One of the reasons we got the off-road traile was to shorten the pack-up time so we don't have to rush when we are driving long distances.
We decided to get to Nossob as quickly as possible, stopping only for brunch at Kamqua picnic spot.
A riverbed panorama.
Lanner Falcon.
On the dune road, some Oryx and calves.

We managed to get to Nossob and set up camp in time for me to take a short afternoon drive - I almost stayed in camp as it had been a tiring day but I'm glad I did as I had a once in a lifetime sighting. Stargazer decided to take a rest from being stuck in the car and stayed in camp.
When I drive solo I take my time and look under bushes trying to find some of the little creatures. On my wish list was to photograph an Elephant Shrew which had evaded me on our last KTP trip.
In the Nossob river bed a carefully hidden new arrival.

A Springbok lamb, the first of several that we saw during the trip. They are dropping their lambs very early this year, this usually happens in November or December!
At Maries se Gat waterhole, a Crowned Plover.
A PCG.
After the PCG, I was about to start the car when I noticed something in the road just in front of me. WOW! Cape Cobra!
A juvenile PCG looked on.

On the way back to camp, the Springbok lamb was out of hiding.
After supper I spent some time at the hide with my Nuclear Flash Gun!
Giant Eagle Owl.
Spring Hare.
