Absolutely! I couldn't believe how full all the dams were - great to see \O

I think that first steenbok is a male? -O-

Lots of water in the dams and water points, how was the Timbavati River?

Good move taking the dirt roads a bit, but ja, the Timbavati drive is deceptively long!
Yep male steenboks... that first one a unicorn lol
Timbavati had some decent water in stretches \O

April 2nd Continued

After our later-than-planned completion of the morning drive we were a bit late in organising something for the afternoon, so we eventually decided on a trip down to Kumana and back. On our previous visit the area around Kumana had been a bit of leopard hot spot so I was secretly hoping for some luck down that way O** However I think we used up all our luck in the morning 0*\ 0*\

It was a pleasant drive though, with plenty of general game around including giraffe, an elephant (who had us reversing for quite a while O** ), hoards of quelea taking in turns to drink/bath whilst a woodland kingfisher looked on rather confused O:V

Kumana was quiet save a few buck in the distance so we popped round to the baobab tree and found a bushbuck meandering around as well \O

The drive back was extremely quiet and we only got cameras out late on for some baboon antics and a jackal near camp ^Q^

The end of a great day was topped off by a nice sunset O:V

The long grass makes the giraffe look short! lol

The quelea flocks were quite a sight this year!

The road to the baobab tree was closed when we were there...wonder why? -O-

Lots of 'tall' animal looked short this time lol
I wonder what was going on near the baobab tree... maybe something to do with heavy rain? I saw there was a big storm just after we left the park and others were asking why the Sweni road was closed -O-

The jackal is a local at Satara. O:V If you stay in Stanley guest house he pops up every evening.
