The Mist rises shortly after sunrise over the Grootvlei dam wall..Bright conditions but no shadows ..the Best light imaginable ..soft and full of detail...I just love the expression of this youngster ..probably the first time she has heard a Camera Shutter being fired ..and the D850 is ultra quiet even at 10 metres from the subject but in that Wilderness area the silence was so quiet it was noisy if I can put it that way

With this mist rising its imperative to click on the image to get the real atmosphere here

Shawu Vlei was the only area with a bit of greenery but early in the morning you have to shoot straight into the low new rising sun (Top left hand corner through the branches) and with the daily dawn mist and drought dust it acts as a filter ..Lots of Buff and ellies about

I love watching Lions in action like being 20 metres from a prides kill with my 70-200 lens watching the little cubs learn to eat spare Ribs at the Sable Dam Spur while mom chased the Vultures ..I wish she chased the 5 OSV's that arrived en mass 10 mins later with their ultra loud guests ..thats when I departed after a total of 20 mins with the cats ..But ja I had to fetch Jane and the trailer at Forever Resort anyway to begin the trek to Tsendze and set up camp..so they made it easy for me
