Those big owls are rather fascinating with their pink eyeshadow

Yes, brown snake-eagle and carmine bee-eater, in case someone wants to know ;-)

Your dad is very thin

Lower Sabie - Satara

During the night I woke up feeling sick and made it to the bathroom just in time!! 0*\ I lay in bed trying to work out what it could be and finally decided it mut be the malaria pills as this has happened to me in Kruger before! :O^ Anyway, I'd set the alarm for 4.15 so that we could pack for our move to Satara. When the alarm went off it was pouring with rain, and I didn't fancy getting soaking wet so I told my dad we'd leave at 6am instead. I phoned my brother and he was very happy with the new time. Luckily it had stopped raining by the time we did have to pack the car. ;-)

We headed to the H10 and said good morning to Mr Hippo.

At the end of the bridge I spotted a birdie in a tree. I only managed this pic before it flew off. :O^ I think it's a Peregrine Falcon which is a lifer for me. O/\

This little ellie was practising its ballet moves. :-0

Family portrait.

There were lots of Wattled Starlings about.

Image

Then we found 3 hyena in the road. O:V

Image

They would run in the road, stop to sniff around and then carry on running.

Image

One disappeared into the bushes and the other two stayed on the road.

Image

Image

They must have run ahead of us for about 2kms before leaving the road.

Lousy weather!

The tinyphant is too cute and it also laughs lol

Hyenas in the road are not bad, even if they will hardly become "favourites" ;-)

Too bad that you were sick :-( Did it pass? I have not had problems anymore with the malaria pills, luckily!

Sorry to hear you were unwell! Hope you felt a lot better in the morning \O

Cool photo of your brother, Anna and the champagne bottle lol

Mystic shot of the hyenas walking down the road with the foggy hills in the background ^Q^

You did score quite a few lifers on this trip ^Q^

The Red-collared Widowbird is stupendous, love the little wildebeest calves (wonder why I don't see many really young ones in KTP?-wrong time of year :-? -O- ), and the ellie ballerina is a stitch lol lol

Lovely family, Flutts
