Two possible options:

Gasteracantha versicolor -O-

In Gasteracantha milvoides, the hind pair of lateral spines are long and straight. \O

According to the Spider book G. milivoides is yellow and red, G. versicolor is yellow or white and red. The hind lateral spines don't look straight to me (this isn't mentioned in the book). My money would be on G.versicolor.

Any ideas what this grub is? My dog dug it out of a flowerpot filled with sawdust. It's around 50mm long.
