A harmless tiny fossorial snake (blind snake), not more than 20 cm in length. Often seen on the surface after rains where they may be found in houses, otherwise seen under stones, rotting logs. They feed on small invertebrates especially termites.

Also called "Boulenger's Garter Snake" and it is not supposed to live in SA
