Naturally, our prize winner got to choose the accommodation that would suit him best and the support crew moved into their choise of abode for the weekend. Sprocky was so busy with getting the fire going that he ended up in the furtherest tent, however it is the one with the superb view of the river. To get there, you need to negotiate a wooden walkway, but it is probably the best site in the camp.
We chilled out around the superb fire listening to night sounds and queitly solving the problems of the world when Cadbury informed us that he could not find the 2 flatty chickens we had brought for supper. This caused a bit of a stir because I knew they were in the bag with the rest of the meat. Eventualy...problem solved, they were exactly where they had been put and were right in front of Cadbury's eyes in the freezer. This should have been his second warning, but we kept quiet about it so the Master wouldn't climb into him again. Maybe we sensed that he was to be seriously wounded the next day.
A rather serious discussion followed to ascertain who would cook the flatties and it was unanimously decided that since the Sprocman had done such a good job of the fire, he should have the honours. Cadbury disapeared into the kitchen (which does have a microwave) to work his magic on a bag of potatoes. The task of entertaining the master was left to me, one I thoroughly enjoyed as Cadbury was extremely attentive in his second role of barman.

This was the discussion as mentioned above by iNdy.

They were both about to sue each other over the missing "flatties".
Luckily the Boss got up and went directly to the bagged chickens. Our supper menu was still in tact.

I must confess that your name came up in the discussions BC. We were simply challenging Sprocky to make a fire that could be deemed equal to the ones you make. There was certainly no shortage of wood and as you can see, he did a fine job. He was a bit skittish when fetching wood from the pile after our discussions centered around scorpions and their nasty habit of hiding in piles of firewood.
More discussions ensued about Sprocky's fire making methods and the three of us finally settled on the term "pyromaniac". It seemed fitting at the time.

Cadbury hard at work keeping an eye of these spuds. The first time he has ever tried this without using a microwave.

This was all taking place while I added a few twigs to the fire.

Re: AW Photo Competition Safari Winner Trip
Sprocky first raised the alarm about the chickens...entirely his fault!
(Probably to keep me from microwaving them, but there you are.
)
So I dabbled with the idea of microwaving the potatoes...but... so chicken and potatoes sans electricity! A first for me!
Anyway, these geniuses moved the fire around about 5 times...I think the Boss broke one of the braaiers...
Getting wood consists of climbing up to the woodpile and hurling logs/trees in the general direction of the fire, and this got more hazardous as the night went on, so I scuttled back to the kitchen/butler's quarters.
leachy must explain how I got my final warning...

I got a bit carried away adding twigs to the fire, even the iBoss had to cover his face.

My problem now was that I had to perfectly cook two chickens on this little inferno.
