After having read through here, I'll say it again:
Thanks heaps, H.e. for representing AW on that particular meet!
I would have been scared without end with such a tremendous task
and you did very well, it seems! Be proud of yourself! I certainly
am very proud of you and can't say thanks enough!
Your report back certainly gives a positive boost in continuing to pursue our common goal.
Very disappointing though that SP did not attend...

God put me on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind that I'll never die.

Re: What is the situation/progress with the proposed hotels?
Thank you all for the kind compliments. Still waiting for the
minutes!! Even this is upsetting!! Why should V&L be doing
this, though they are proffesional enough to see this!
So close to home, maybe down a passage a left a right who
knows, not even a secretary to tell us we wasted our time!!
At one time I got the feeling there was eavesdropping going!
Sorry my wild imagination still so close.
You're probably very busy due to flooding damage but please
Sanparks next time just pop -in to say,"Hi sorry the meet is
not on"!!

H.e any serious organisation would have made an effort to be represented!

Sometimes it’s not until you don’t see what you want to see, that you truly open your eyes.

Yes Sprocks it takes two to tango. They seemingly
are forgetting that South Africans at large handed
them African heritage to protect, yet cannot step
to the plate to appreciate it!!
My day was not all together lost I tell you.
I had the priviledge of staring at a painting which
I physically touched and unwrapped from i'ts frame
for reproduction purpose. This was many years ago.
Mafunyane, painted Paul Bosman!!!
So these 'okes
and their lousy hotel became second thought for a 'mo.

Re: What is the situation/progress with the proposed hotels?
Ja, H.! I worked there as a student and it's a hallowed place!
To take a few steps back, re SanParks...
I don't know if any similar parastatal
body in the world would not just grasp any opportunity at engaging with the public to give any input they could!?
If one looks at it realistically, SanParks work for us, in SA terms, and their salaries get paid by local and international tourists, by their own admission, as government apparently does not wish to fund them much anymore, really...which is a matter for conjecture, as for example Limpopo department of basic education has simply applied to the national treasury fo a baillout payment, which should be granted. (A figure which comparatively should cover all SanParks' alleged financial woes.)
I am firmly of the belief that SanParks have been sucked into a political master plan, and that is not the master plan required as a conservation organisation!

Re: What is the situation/progress with the proposed hotels?
There is a political tendence here!!
RP, the crowd I deliver to/have delivered to
have a very similar trait. Seems there is a
gun held to .govs head,- "You do it my way
or no way"!
However RP fact remains, we are not allowed
to see nature conservation in this light!! It is
not socially fitting!!

The upside may be that government may change sooner than one thinks, giving more time for our conservation heritage...and maybe change even better a bit later!
