Somehow I managed to lose this thread and for the life of me I could not find it.

Eventually contacted Flutterby who put me in the right direction.

Hi Amoli. What a fantastic birdiful garden you have and your stunning photos to compliment it.

I am still trying to catch the mouse bird, black collared barbet, thrush and a sunbird that flits around every day but he is too fast for me.

Thanks for sharing your garden with us and Joan and I hope that you will continue to do so.

Over the past few weeks I have been in the garden between 08:00 and 10:00 trying to get an assortment of photos of visitors to my feeding tray and garden. I have posted a few pics under "Birds in Flight" and now these will be the static pics.

Burchells coucal.
Image

Black-collared barbet - not a very good pic but the best that I have.
Image

Cape-glossy starling.
Image

Speckled mousebird - at last I have managed to get my first few shots of this very active and elusive bird.

Image

Green wood-hoopoe.
Image

Sunbird- ???????? - Another first taken very quickly. Looking at my bird book this could be the female marico sunbird?
Image

Crested barbet.
Image

Karoo thrush - another first for me.

Two Cape-glossy starlings eyeball a laughing dove.

Next - a family of green wood-hoopoe pay a visit and show off their youngster.

Thanks Dewi - you could be right.

That's the problem with females - they all look the same.
