One starts losing direction and time and perspective after going so many kilometres without seeing anything human! It is quite nice though. One big moment was the road turning sharp right, which gave us a clue about where we were on the map! O/\ O\/ ^Q^

RP: "Hold this course for the next hour, young man!"

BL: "What?"

RP: "I feel we are headed to safety! Only a matter of time, stay in the race!"

BL: "But you are driving!"

RP: "Cheers!"

BL: "Cheers!"

At some stage one finds a HUGE natural pan called Uitspan. It was utterly desolate.... O-/

The most godforsaken steenbok in Africa!

And we sighted another landmark, Nwambu just before the tar road! O\/ ^Q^ O/\

Also broken... 0:

We hit the tar! X#X X#X X#X

After crying from joy a bit and waving at a passing vehicle, we turned south for home! \O

q7.jpg

Nearby is a natural waterpoint that is never empty, in the Tsendze River, and one...

BL: "The what river? :O^ "

...and one drives in on a couple of little loops. This was useful for dodging amongst the aminals! :-0

q8.jpg

Lovely shade and view, so time for relax and cold chicken! ..0..

:ty:

This is a very nice spot, one of the few natural perennial river pools with a nearby shady view. X#X

q.jpg

RP: "I suppose we should get going, we are wildly late and must make food etc."

BL: 'Ja..."

RP: "Ja.

BL: "Heheheeeeheh..

RP: "Whahahaaaahahahaa!"

So we sat a bit more...

q1.jpg

Then left eventually!

Further down there is Bowkerskop, with cellphone signal neaby.

q2.jpg

Cellphone: "Triiing. Triiiing!"

RP: "Whassaaaaap!"

Reception: "So when are you booking in?'

RP: "Err, we are coming now. It's fine, we came in yesterday and all is in order, leachy said..."

Reception: "What is litchi got to do with it? Why do you not book in when you come into camp?'

RP: "But leachy..."

Reception: "You are mad. Someone must come and pay now. Oh, wait, a fellow who calls himself Goldenboy has arrived here, we shall make him pay all outstanding fees. ..0.. "

RP: "... :o0ps: "

So we went back to camp chop-chop.

Wildebeest and their cousins and cattle egrets that feed on the insects they disturb! :-0

And lo and behold Goldenboy was there, and the rest had moved tens of metres out on to the stoep! ^Q^ ^Q^

This is the problem with a dam-view hut. One sits like this for many hours despite the best of intentions, it is hypnotic. 0: O-/

Goldenboy looks hypnotised more by his financial hammering...sorry...

q5.jpg

There is a giant rock statue of a duck outside the hut. well done SANParks, a clever touch! O\/ O:V

q4.jpg

One sees lots of small aminals and things, should one have the energy to turn one's neck...

A starling that also has the Mopane Sleeping Sickness

And a dinosaur lizard, I forget the name! Checking out the braai. :-0

q8.jpg

I could not abide the laziness and went inside to make delicious food as drunch for everyone. Because I am that good.

GB: "Come quick, Frewells has lost it! "

RP: "What now? 0*\ "

Frewells is the most laid-back character one can meet, so if he acts even a millimetre out of character we are terrified! O-/

But he was clearly relaxing. Or he is a keen fisherman? -O-

\O
