She really was a superstar for us on this trip Lis... and I see she does still seem to be seen quite regularly which is great news :-)

Thanks RP - the cats kindly positioned themselves perfectly for the soft morning light... it really was amazing O\/

As Kutyhilwa carried on drinking, Boniswa was checking some discarded toilet paper 0*\

Image

He then made his way down to join his sister at the waterhole ^Q^ ^Q^

Seeing the two of them together really showed the size difference between the siblings

Image

They then started wandering further off over the other side of the riverbed

Image

There were some gemsbok keeping an eye on the cats, which put Boniswa in full stalk mode at times. He was blending in well with the water supply tank, but the gemsbok knew he was there, and despite his size, I'm not sure Boniswa wouldn't be able to take one down anyway. lol

The cats settled on the far slope whilst one of the gemsbok came in for a drink

Image

Image

Realising the gemsbok weren't really suitable prey, the leopards moved up onto the ridge... after an amazing half an hour with them it was time to move on and see what else we could find.

That was a really, really awesome sighting of two beautiful leopards!
And agreed - amazing how huuuge Boniswa is compared to his sister.
Really hope he'll find his spot and becomes a new legend [Luv]

Terrific photos ^Q^

Such quality, Peej! [O]

And informative!

The toilet paper is interesting, I wonder what they think of the pee smells? :-?

Thanks everyone for the comments, and apologies for the delay in this TR... work at the end of the year has been quite manic 0*\

After leaving the cats we ventured over the lower dune road which was all quiet except for a couple of steenbok as we neared Kij Kij

Image

We ventured up as far as Melkvlei before heading back towards TR. Along the way we had some regulars

Image

Image

And then that juvenile goshawk from the other day was again on the ground... this time with a big mole snake. It still didn't seem to know what to do and the snake just slithered away lol

Image

Image

We stopped for some ground squirrels

Image

And then pulling in at Rooiputs waterhole, these two big boys had just arrived and had an incredibly long drink ^Q^ ^Q^

Image

Image

Image

Unfortunately they barely looked at us the entire time, and wandered off away from us up onto a hillside to settle down in some shade

Image

Image

Our last sighting before we got back to camp was a spotted eagle owl fast asleep
