Now if you guys think I am train crazy after travelling almost 600 miles to see a steam train then check this out. On Wednesday 3 April I took a 5 train ride trip from London - Weymouth - Southampton - Brighton - Ashford International - London just to see the south of England from a train window. No steam this time around , only electric and diesel. I left London at 07:30 and got back to London at 18:50. Each train left exactly on time and the same for arrivals. At Southampton I only had 5 minutes to get off the one train and get on to the next one. Talk about tight timelines. Below are some photos taken through the train window so the quality is not so hot.
At London Bridge station one gets this view of Londons latest landmark - the 95 storey Shard Building - the highest building in the European Union.
Near Swanage.
The rivers were still in full spate.
The railway viaduct leaving Brighton.
I though this made quite a pretty picture.
Running alongside the seaside near Lewes.
The fields were full of sheep and lambs.
Cannot remember when I last saw one of these in South Africa but they seem to be all over the place in England.
