That night we had a very lovely visitor who inspected the verandah
and tried to catch the moths
We did not sleep well again as it was very hot in the chalet.

We wanted to give Marie se draai another chance today and stumbled upon three jackals at Rooikop. One was inspecting the waterhole

As it was still early, we continued to Cubitje Quap. Unfortunately, the jackals were quite lazy that day
After breakfast we took a nap again to catch up on some sleep.
As lions and hyenas had been spotted according to the sightings board, we went to Bedinkt on the afternoon drive. Our only sightings were a lone jackal and a far-away bateleur.
This night we opened the window from the bedroom to the kitchen and slept a little bit better as at least some air got in. You can not open the bedroom window since there is no mosquito net.

As we were to move to Grootkolk today, we had not planned going on a morning drive. At about 6:15 am we went to the hide. While my SO went in already, I opened the gate for someone else. When I was in the passway I saw a lioness at about the speed limit sign – approximately 10 metres from where I had just opened the gate – oops. My SO caught a short glimpse of her as well from the hide

As some cars were still close to camp, we tried to follow her on foot inside the camp but we could not see her any more. South of the waterhole we saw some cars close to camp as well. Thus, we changed our mind and decided to go out on a quick drive to check that. But going North(lion) or South (cars)? We went South and found Caster’s cub.
