Hi Mel
I've really got to get out and see more of my own country!!
Especially Kakadu some day, for it's wealth of cultural and biological significance
You must have been in heaven, ticking off all those new birds
But only one little lizard?? I thought the Top End was crawling with reptiles
Again I had to ask my work colleague about the ID of your lizard.
It is a baby
Amphibolurus temporalis - common name is a Swamplands lashtail
More please

Thanks nan, Lis, Seiont, Flutts, BC, melou and Dewi for your kind comments - appreciate your interest!
melou, thanks for providing the ID

And I'm afraid, I can't even say there is still lots more to come. Well, there actually is,
just not much on the reptile side. We did see that nice

cane toad tough, remember.

Before heading to our campsite at Gagudju, we paid Yellow Water a visit. A really beautiful place.
Our first saltwater crocodile (Thanks for the correction, melou!

Some sort of dragonfly/damselfly

Not sure why I put in the wrong count. But you haven't seen a masked lapwing on my TT yet. That was stf's, I think.

I know that I have seen STF's lapwing, but I might have missed yours. In any case your count is wrong
