Would the bow and arrow have been used to bring down the ellie....looks very ineffectual! :-?

Hi Flutterby, I think the bow was carried by one of the trackers from the local people where the hunt must have taken place - indicating that this elephant was from a really far-off outlying district where very few Europeans ever ventured.
Could of cause have been hunted with a poisoned arrow and that the people posing with the tusks actually bought the tusks from the hunter.

Still looks like Addo, but the elephants have bigger tusks \O
