Oh wow what a great sub tale and fantastic sighting . \O \O

Agree with you on not moving .We did a similar stint at a Wild Dog sighting where we waited 4 hours for them to get active in January and stayed at one spot even when it got busier later in the day .We were out the way enough that any other arriving cars could come and go without issues .

Love the ellie pics! \O

Your patience was well rewarded!! lol Awesome sighting and pics!! \O I can imagine that the Brat would probably sit for hours waiting to see them, but not my dad! lol

We've seen leopard cubs once in Kruger...it was the Brat's second visit, and a mom and tiny, tiny cub crossed the road in front of us and disappeared. We then saw another cub had been left on the other side of the road, so we knew mom would be back. We parked and waited, and everyone we told about the cubs obviously thought we were telling porkies and moved off. After waiting for about an hour we saw mom and the two cubs back on the side of the road we first saw them...they had crossed under the road through a culvert! So, our patience (although not tested as much as yours) also paid off. ;-) We've learnt with leopards, if you sit quietly they often come back into view. \O

@ Rogerfraser
I spotted doggies in March and we parked next to them, there was a space big enough to fit a car between me and WEndyA. But we got lip from a JJ of Jock, he was gooing signs at WEndy and commented that I parked them in. It totally upset me as we especially parked a certain way to allow other people to check them out as well and normally it is the JJ's that doesn't allow us to see anything...

@Lis
I love the baby ellies, they are a lot of fun to watch. ut we do see more leetle ellies than cats that is why it was super special for us

@HArrys
I do hope you see them soon. They were such a treat, definitely like household cats, jumping up and down the trees and scratching the trunks.

@BC
YOu should've seen my sis. WE where like 'WHAT?" it took her a while to calm down to point out where the cubs where 0-
You look too calm and collected to have had bushfever?

@RP
This was a few months ago... I had an update end of Jan last about the cubs...
You pulling my leg ne? -O-

@Flutts
YOu had a better experience with the cubs, if I passed you I would've stayed with the info you gave and have such a great sighting. You must send me some kiekies of the cubs. I've had another bushfever experience in my Dec 2012 trip. Stayed 3 hours and also saw nothing... I'm not that lucky with the leopards even though I have patience 0:

Episode 13… The general beauties of the bush

Now I know that we come to the Park to see the Big 5, the fantastic feathers and to relax in the bush but to appreciate the not so frequently seen animals we have the general game to fill in the gaps and enjoy during our drives. Here are some moments I would like to share of the animals people normally look over but which form a part of the magic of the Park.

There are sometimes that I would drive past them but every now and then I get the urge to sit and spend quality time with them, enjoying the peace of no traffic and having them to myself because without them KNP would not feel the same.

To be continued…
