12th Skukuza continued
We scored a luck due to the delivery vehicle chaos and ended up in a prime viewing spot after all the cars switched off again.
We were amazed at the power of a male lion as he easily moved the buffalo around.
A lioness then pulled in and started some “suction moves” to score a chow and the male fell for it; however he didn’t seem impressed with us taking pics and glared intently at us for at least a minute.
The lioness then realised that she couldn’t get through the buffalo skin with ease, so pulled a few more moves which resulted in the male moving off and she took his spot.
The Garmin was now stating that we were going to arrive late at the scheduled meeting time and as I hate being late stress started to develop.
“How do we get out of here?”
I started up which is normally a hint, but nobody moved, so I switched off again, but time was ticking and we were now going to be 20 minutes late, so my stress levels only increased because I knew RP would have a chirp about it.
A newly arrived OSV driver then started pushing his way into the mix and I spotted an angle so pulled in behind him as he pushed his way through, however he stopped in the middle of the gang for his guests to take pics, but eventually my hand waving got him to move and we were out of the gang and down the S33.
We didn’t stop for anything on the S33 as we were late, so I stuck to 40km/h and watched the road.
We pulled into Nhlanguleni at 12:22pm and expected RP to have a pelican because we were late; however he was cool about it.
The Cow hired a skottel and RP put GB to work with the cooking duties, then decided GB could multi-task, scooped my tools and set him to work on the failing cooler box, so I decided to fiddle with the electric window at the same time, but neither of us was successful.
The “tea” then made an appearance so any form of work was out the window and RP revealed his plot for another Cow bum grab, so even the local hornbills realised that a few AW members had a meet on the go.
After a very good chow the junior rats cruised to take some pics of the ellies at the waterhole, while Hawkeyes fiddled with the panorama function on her cell phone.
Albert thinks differently to most and was after a particular pic with her little point and shoot camera and I was impressed with her patience as she sat for 15 minutes to get the timing correct.
“Dad, I got a piggy in the middle picture” “It’s a once in a lifetime shot!” and then roared off to show the Cow.
