17th Sept.
We packed up and had a quiet drive to Twee Rivieren.
There were a lot of juvenile bateleur around, but I'm sure this was the same one we saw before on the same dead tree
Time to pump up the tyres before hitting the road.
We split up when we left the Park. One couple went straight back to Cape Town, another to family in Augrabies.
The 6 of us left were supposed to camp at Augrabies but we decided to get a chalet so we could get an early start in
the morning.
Firstly a walk around the falls, which were very low.
Our shadows on the rocks far below
An augrabies flat lizard (I think) correct me if I'm wrong please.
male and female.
and finally a pale winged starling.
Thank you everyone for coming on this ride with me. It brought back many great memories. Especially the lions
roaring at night so close to us.
And now a trip to Botswana in April which I am really looking forward to

And lovely bateleur as well
Thanks heaps for sharing your trip with us, pooky!
If I a say "Please, pretty please" can we have a travel tale from Bots too?

Lovely having you on board Mel
Thanks for all the great comments, and yes, I will do a TT on Botswana.
We are a bit concerned about the amount of rain they have had and if we will get to
stay at all the camps we have booked
Wish they could send us a little bit of that rain, we are having a terrible drought down here in the Cape

Thanks so much Pooky,
really had a fantastic time in catching up and for sure all your cat sightings and that many birds especially the different owls must have been amazing
