24th August 2017 - Continued

Found a lion in the river bed off the S23

And some Ellies fighting on the Biyamiti road

We unpacked and chilled after the long drive down. Teagy and I took a walk around camp and were scared by a Bushbuck hiding next to the fence .

Image

The evening drive was just a loop to the weir and back, the sun was setting and we took a few pics in the dwindling light

Just before camp, we saw what we thought was a leopard, turned out to be a Civet that was kind enough to stop so we could get a few pics

A Civet is almost as good as a leopard, if it does not run away right away O/\ O/\

Also a squirrel O\/ O\/

What an unusual giraffe stretching angle, SN! ^Q^

Civet is more rare than leopard, I think, especially to get a good pic! :-0 :-0 :-0

You must not be scared of the little antelope, they won't hurt you... 0/0

Booze and drugs all over the place...what must granny think? :o0ps: :-(
I should have brought my biscuits also O** =O: Granny has seen much worse many times ;-)

Nice lioness sighting on the S100 ^Q^

Some sleeping males on the H7…… O:V I never have much luck on the H7 after Nsemani Dam, but others love it. -O-

A long trip down to Biyamiti and I see you took the S23 and scored a lion. O/\ We drove it last year and it was stuffed so hopefully it’s been sorted out by now. ..0..

A fantastic civet sighting, in my opinion rarer than a leopard :-0 ^Q^ ^Q^

25th August 2017

This being our last full day in the park, we slept in and took a late morning drive on the loop of the S25 to the H4-2, then back to Biyamiti on the H5.

First a few pics of the sightings within Biyamiti camp

Image

Another cheeky baby Ellie on the S25, we have found that Biyamiti Ellies are usually a bit more aggressive than usual, this little guy was in practice mode.. lol

Image

Image

Close to Croc Bridge we found a young Giraffe, who must have had a lucky escape the night before

Image

Image

And a massive Croc

Image

The rest of the drive was quiet except for a lone Hyena on the H5 and some general game
Image

This Ellie skull on H5 has been there for a few years now.

A nice variety!

Ja, I'm sure the Biyamiti area has far less traffic so ellies are less accustomed? -O-

Those oxpeckers take their pound of flesh and keep the wounds open for ages! @#$
