also the lions do look quite fat - plus cheetah and finally not forget about your Special interest - the insects - Incredible shots from them

As always, a tip of my hat to each of you, and an acknowledgement of how much I value your input - Flutts, RP (there were actually very few insects this year, tho' the lacewings at Uri were very abundant), Sis (Yes, we thought seeing a kudu and gemsbok laying alongside one another was uncommon, and the baby eland I posted was on the other side of the same puddle), Mel (Perhaps someone may cancel Grootkolk due to the virus - keep looking, I'll keep my fingers crossed. Yes, you need to try your hand at Macro - I'll be waiting… ), and Pumbaa.

As described in Mel's TT, our morning started off with a wonderful sighting of Botshelo walking down the riverbed, ultimately crossing the road right in front of us. All my pics are just of him walking, so will only post a couple.








These gemsboks were in a battle, and neither wanted to back down first.

The day ended with a sighting that MAY have explained something we had seen that morning.








The lion youngsters were still at the waterhole, but no longer out in the open riverbed - live and learn, I suppose.





A few minutes spent watching ostriches in the setting sun,





Then back to camp for a relaxing evening.

To see a leopard like that, out in the open and close, is still a dream for me. I have seen one out in the open, but not very close ( Waterhole at Kilie Krankie )

The gemsboks fighting are gorgeous and so are the more regal kudus

The pics of the lilac-breasted roller are very, very pretty

At some point Botshelo must have been too much for your lens, considering he walked straight towards you.
I'm still very happy about our rather brief sighting of him. But he was so very high on my wishlist and
I didn't even only get him far off in hidden in a dark cave but out walking - even if the light was not ideal yet.



Tsamma got quite tame for a few days there Haven't heard much again of her ever since
