Love the Snake eagle eating the snake
Yes we also found the traffic a bit much sometimes in Feb I think as there was limited roads available it was more of an issue .Even though you didn't get the Lion crossing I love the picture of all the muscles on the front leg

What a selection of birdies, Pubaa!
That walk at camp sure looks nice!
Never seen a snake eagle eating a snake before...
And as Rog says, what a healthy lioness!

Most of the roads were closed so only logical that most of the cars pile up when a lion is coming up

Unfortunately yes about the wet day

That lioness consisted only out of muscles

Totally right about the limited roads

It was the second sighting of a snake eagle eating a snake so far and yes that lioness looked so strong and powerful

That is not a reason for blocking someone's sight of the lions

On top as everybody else found a place not to block someone's view

It must have been the mother with the three little cubs we already had the honor in meeting on our first full day in the park on our way to Pretoriuskop. Suddenly we noticed a movement in the dense vegetation and finally saw her a bit hidden behind a bush and now unintentionally we had the best view
and could at least take a couple of more pictures and from time to time one of the cubs could be seen as well although not very clear.
Nevertheless we were happy in seeing her again
although not very clear and although we waited a while they did not come closer to the road but disappeared deeper into the bush so we continued our drive.
Then we came across a herd of elephants
where the members enjoyed the lush green grass before it got again darker and even started to rain again.
Birding was despite the rain not that bad and we came across another dark chanting goshawk,
a blue waxbill,
a village indobird
as well as this little feathered friend.
Meanwhile the rain got a bit annoying as we now had to close the windows whilst driving which is indeed a no go for us, however, close to Kwaggaspan in an open area we spotted two wooly necked storks and both were steadily looking in as we supposed smaller water holes as in front the grass was too high.

Soon the one at a hole close to us caught a bullfrog who was huge
and after the stork presented us the frog same started to peck eagerly on same
and needless to say that we felt so sorry for the poor frog.
This procedure continued a while and then the frog was obviously eatable
and the stork swallowed same whilst in the distance another wooly necked stork was inspecting another hole but same noticed the catch of the day from the other stork and came running as this hole must have been obviously a bit more productive.
As meanwhile the rain was falling steadily and we turned around and drove slowly back, however, we stopped for a couple of birds such as a martial eagle in flight,
a canary,
a grey headed sparrow,
another birdie as well as giraffes
and then we noticed a couple of dung beetles at work and only afterwards whilst watching the pictures later after download we discovered the little fly on top of the dung beetle.
Grey louries in the rain had to be captured
as well as one of the many yellow billed hornbills
and also a zorro before we finally were back in camp where meanwhile the rain stopped and sometimes now even the sun showed up.
to be continued…………………
