Yeah, same thought here and that's why I didn't go for that one... And according to the MZNP bird list, they don't occur here.
To be honest, I'm hoping for an alpine swift, but probably not

This was it... leaving day had come

And despite the atrocities with the guesthouse, we had enjoyed being in the park tremendously
The morning started off rather eerily...
... and it reminded us a lot of the last time when the clouds were hanging just as low and making it impossible for decent photos

But up on Rooiplat Loop, I did get my best crane shot ever
And even in the valley, just before leaving, it was alright:
An unexpected sighting, too, since spoonbills are not there by default

Well, this was it... I told you I was determined to finish before I leave for the next trip... and miraculously I managed
And btw, we'll be back in Mountain Zebra next Easter. Approximately at the same time and definitely in the same location. We have once to experience what it is like out there with no noises (at least we hope so

). Plus, being in the guesthouse is very close to being in the KTP. Not accommodation wise (far too luxurious

), but when it comes to being deserted. And that's even better than in the KTP because you're in an unfenced camp without anyone "watching" all the time. And despite the stiff increase for the nightly rate, we won't pay more than this time because we did get a compensation out of the failing electricity.
Thanks to all of you who were patient enough to check in here time and again.

Love your scenery pics Mel.
Great pic of the blue crane.
Enjoyed your TT here. Hope you get even betterer sightings on your upcoming trip.
Your swallows are lesser striped I think.
