I am sure that there are international regulations that have to be upheld for an area to be classified as a "National Park".

The maps are a little unclear...but devastating...showing a planned five new picnic spots in Southern Kruger alone, for example! 0-

RP, this has all been known for a looong time, only that nobody really believed that they had the recklessness to go through with it. They have the power and that's all that's needed....sorry forgot, the lack of moral and ethics!

A remarkable statistic is the 5km "utilisation zone" for local communities to be able to harvest whatever within the Park's borders. If one very conservatively takes a 700km stretch around Kruger alone, that would equate to 17.5 % of the Park now being "utilised"...a far cry from the 0.3% used repeatedly as justification for further commercial development re hotels in the past!

And don't tell me one community will happily be outside this benefit zone and watch another community reaping benefits...

It is absolutely playing with fire! O/

I have just counted all the new developments and its staggering
9x Picnicspots
7x Bird hides
3x Campsites
5x Tented Camps
12x Viewing decks
1x Community campsite
7x New overnight hides
and the roads on top of this.

This is the end of conservation, the end of mankind. We will burn for this!!!!!!

I was going to read trip reports and post, but I am out of here before I say things.

Do they realise wars have been started over less????????

Well, I think it will take a long time in many cases...

At least some cards are on the table.

The two new hotels haven't even started, and should they be a flop it may change some minds!

Another important factor is that this rezoning is bizarrely being touted as a solution to rhino poaching, which is significant! Hence the rush!

Smoke and mirrors!
